Charles Darwin named this strange fish Ogcocephalus darwini, or red-lipped bat fish. This fish is a type of anglerfish, similar to Marlin and Dory fish in the movie Finding Nemo.

The difference is, this fish looks very terrible. His mouth has sharp spikes. The shape of the lips is like a human, fiery red. The goal is to disguise his ferocious and savage self as a predator. Actually, if this fish doesn't have pouty lips, it's quite cute. However, this bat fish is indeed very unique, in addition to its shape and behavior.

The body shape is rather select like a stingray. But he has wings that stretch like a bat. That's why this fish is named bat fish. Although it is a fish, this red-lipped batfish is a poor swimmer. This fish is commonly found in the deep waters of the Pacific Ocean around the Galapagos Islands and off the coast of Peru. He seems quite lazy. He used to forage on the seabed by just curling up.

When this fish reaches adulthood, a kind of horn will grow on its head. Marine biologists suspect the horns are used to lure their prey. But until now, the shape of the pouty lips and red color cannot be predicted by other functions.
